Account information: display name, date of birth (for age verification), and authentication credentials.
Voice data: real-time audio transmitted during voice rooms. We do not record or store voice audio after sessions end.
Usage data: room participation, game scores, interactions, and device/browser information collected automatically.
Invite links: friend connections created through external invite links you share.

Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
Facilitate real-time voice communication and game experiences.

Other participants in voice rooms you join (display name and voice audio).

5. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Game data and usage logs are retained for up to 12 months. Voice audio is transmitted in real-time and is not stored after a session ends.

6. Children's Privacy

Users under 18 ("Junior accounts") are subject to additional protections including parental consent requirements, restricted room access, minimum participant requirements in public rooms, and a panic button feature. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

7. Audio Safety & Moderation

For safety purposes, audio content on Bolaa may be transcribed and reviewed by our moderation system. This includes:

Hot takes, confessions, rants, and group voice notes — transcribed shortly after upload to detect harmful content.
Live room conversations — sampled occasionally (typically every 2 minutes for adult rooms, every 60 seconds for rooms with junior participants) to detect inappropriate content. Sampled audio is processed for transcription and then deleted; only the transcription is retained.
Panic-button activations — automatically capture the surrounding audio context for human review.

Reviews are confidential and only used for safety enforcement. Transcriptions are visible only to our moderation administrators and are never shown to other users or used for advertising. We use Groq Whisper for transcription and a hosted large-language model classifier; no audio is sent to third parties beyond what is required for these checks.

8. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS) for all data transmission. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Object to or restrict processing of your data.

10. Third-Party Services

Our Service uses third-party services including LiveKit (voice communication), Cloudflare (content delivery), Resend (email delivery), Groq (audio transcription and content classification for safety purposes), and analytics providers. Each operates under their own privacy policies.
